We think 1200 watts wound be better.We would have paid more to get that.CFM SHOULD BE 400

It’s back in the box on its way to retailer. It was impossible to install it in my kitchen. Bought to replace a JVM1410 model which had a control board failure.
After removing the dead microwave the first thing we noticed was the support bracket on the wall was configured differently so we needed to remove it and attach the new one. Then we had to drill new holes in the top of our cabinet because those were in a different location. That’s when the problems started. After using the template and marking and drilling new holes we discovered that while it was possible to snug up the bolts into the unit, the steel case is too flimsy to stay rigid when hanging from the two bolts which support the entire front weight. That resulted in the steel case bending in the center and causing the microwave to tilt forward. This is not our first microwave rodeo. We have currently one in our house which is only a few months old, that replaced an Advantium bought in 2010, which was the second of two of these. The first died in 2 years. So we replaced it with the third one after doing a full kitchen renovation. Our other house had the JVM1410 which lasted from 2005 but was rare used. That was removed and recycled and then we ordered one from retailer. It arrived damaged but installed fine, but had a crushed corner in the front. So that went back and we got another. It arrived with the entire back caved in! It went back and we opted for a different model, the one which we are now going to take back. I’m very disappointed in these lately. After so many years suddenly they are very flimsy and easily damaged.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I installed my new GE microwave myself

I had a similar GE microwave that gave me 16 years of daily service. This product is very similar, but has new features. Installed it myself. Works well and is a perfect match to the appliances we currently own.

Looks good if it worked

it stopped heating after 3 months. Had repair out to fix. Ordered part, came to fix another day and whatever he thought the problem was, wasn't. So waiting on more parts and another repair visit. Great job GE

DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE

I purchased in May 2022 and 'splurged' for a brand I could trust. It broke down in July. It took weeks to fix with the warranty. Fast forward to Thanksgiving day- it completely shut down after 3 min. use. Unacceptable. The warranty is nice to have, but given this track record, it will happen again and I'm not paying extra for extending a warranty on something like this. I'm angry that I'll have to buy another microwave in 6 months, but I won't support GE again after this unless it's replaced. Do not make the same mistake I did!
