Replacement microwave

In 1/2019 we installed a model JVM6175DK2WW microwave that shorted out in 10/2022.
We purchased model JVM6175DK5WW thinking it would just slip in to the old space. Of course it didn't - disappointing. The new one works find - sure hope it last longer than 4 years. Especially since it is in our winter home and is only used half the year.

Subpar Durability

Decent sized microwave. Within the year started having issues where it would get hot on top and the microwave would not heat the food. Everything else worked fine, just would not heat food if you warmed more than 2-3 plates of food. Not too big of a deal if you are heating a plate here or there, but really noticed it during family dinners. We would have to heat the food on the stove when we got past 3 plates warmed in the microwave. It quickly devolved from there into not heating at all. We put in to have the microwave fixed through the service link on the GE website like they advised. The repairman called me up to confirm issue and schedule. He said he knew exactly what caused it. Apparently they see this often. He came out and fixed it. Worked for less than 2 months before started happening again. Over Thanksgiving, it completely stopped heating any food at all. Having to schedule yet another repair of the product and now it is saying out of warranty? I won't make the same mistake twice!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Installed, up and running ... So, so beautiful and bigger inside than expected. It's over an electric range however can be used over a gas range as well. Easy to clean. Plug in ready once installed.

Easy to install; dimensions claimed were accurate

Works well, power similar to prior model we had, door closure latch mechanism seems less robust than prior model and could be an early failure point. Overall good value for the price. May want to consider standardizing mounting hardware with prior models; however still an easy install for my son and I.
