Just an Okay Product

Our new over-the-stovetop microwave over, model JVM6175SK5SS, is the next line in a previous, similar model. It does not seem to be made as wekk -- seems a bit tinny. Also, the rotating dish seems a bit clumsy to use and makes some odd noises whuile the plate is rotating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's fine and does the job, but nothing special! Looks good and matches my stove so I like that. Just doesn't wow me on features. and It is loud during operation.

We have been GE customers for decades, when our other brand name microwave quit our first choice was to replace it with a GE that matched the other kitchen appliances. Our new GE microwave even has more features.

Buyer beware

This microwave did perform fairly well until this past month when it stopped heating food! I had this for only 3 years. I guess it’s meant to end its function after 3 years!

We’re sorry to hear that you’re having issues with it not heating food. It’s understandable how disappointing it is and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.
If your microwave runs but is not heating, there could be one of many components that is not working properly. First, please make sure the “Timer” function was not inadvertently used. Also, check to ensure the door is closed securely. Open the door and close it firmly. This confirms the engagement of the door's safety mechanisms.
For safety reasons, we offer no do-it-yourself repair advice on microwave ovens. There is an internal high voltage capacitor which can hold a high voltage charge even after the microwave has been unplugged. Also, special equipment is generally needed to make a diagnosis for the repair needed.
If the above suggestions do not solve the problem and the microwave still won't heat, we recommend scheduling service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or scheduling online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

Replaces a 1992 GE Microwave

We have replaced a 1992 GE Convection Microwave with a much newer model. We find it as a plugin and play. Sensor cooking is great feature and is far easier to use. Good product and priced fair.
