Looks great. Doesn’t last!!

Like many others, this product quit working within 2 years. It no longer heats. Repair is very expensive, almost as much as new one, as unit is already out of the very limited one year warranty. Should consider looking at better quality units, as the short life outweighs any other nice features.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not all GE Microwaves are alike

I was SOOOO bummed when I killed my few-year-old GE over-the-range white microwave this past December. That one had a tricky-to-change cover on the light and when I was replacing the light cover I accidentally put a screw driver where it shouldn't go and BOOM. So first I'll say to all: UNplug it to change the light. Moving on.... I looked on line then made a few calls looking for a white GE microwave that fit in the spot most easily. The local appliance store sales lady was so helpful and matter of fact. We were both in this efficiency mode (for me it was because of Christmas, work, travel. and I just wanted to replace with same microwave and move on). In hindsight, I wish I asked more questions and taken the time to go look at them. Is there a better quality model that would have fit in the same hole? I dunno. I liked my old one better (also GE). This one feels cheaper, door lighter weight and makes a "ching" sound when opening and a loud clumsy sound when closing the door. My husband is a light sleeper and he hates the door sound from the bedroom. The buttons are harder to "press" and they're all in different places (why why why?!) I have to search for the light, the fan.....you get it. ALso- the timeshare we use has GE everything so I figure they're durable- I looked closely and they use better-feeling (heavier?) microwaves with buttons just like my old one (still in mourning). HOWEVER- this new it works. It heats food fast. The turntable turns, it's white, looks good. SO- 4 stars despite my regrets.

I love my microwave is great it heat food fast and very quite ,is easy to install better than other microwave. I would recommend to all my friends and family.

We had an older GE Microwave that lasted approx 10 years. Bought this one hoping it’s as good, but it doesn’t look as durable. Also has less features.

Our old over the stove microwave went out (after 20 yrs) and we were without one for a month. Love this new one! My favorite feature is the sensor part. My kids can make their own popcorn without burning it!

Got this to replace the same exact model that I’ve had for six years. LOVED this microwave! It finally died. This one is so cheaply made, all plastic and the door doesn’t even lineup. Instead of feeling like a solid door when closed it’s tinny sounding and not as solid. The fan automatically comes on, no choice. Obviously, they just don’t make things like they used to. Very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
