Have always preferred GE appliances

We are very pleased with our choice of this microwave.
The only reason for the four star rating (as opposed to five) is because we find the display on this model is way too bright. We had to purchase something to tone done the illumination.

Our GE microwave that came with our newly built home failed after only 6 yrs. We managed to get a more powerful microwave for a great deal. We hope this one lasts longer

Replace the 11 year old GE microwave. Went with Ge since all other appliances were GE So far no complaints with basic usage.

Same Model Number but different in many ways

We purchased a microwave with this same model number less than 4 years ago. That microwave needed to be replaced due to numerous problems that were out of the 1-year warranty. Money and time were spent to have an appliance repair technician attempt to fix the first microwave. With each repair, the microwave needed to be unmounted from the wall. We then decided to replace the initial microwave. We needed a replacement that was the same over the stove/under the cabinet model, with the same size and color. Even though the replacement was the exact same model number, (and same size and color), we found several differences between the original and new product. Of concern is that the door on the new product feels less solid, more tinny, and the noise when turned on is very loud. The most annoying difference is that the mounting screw holes and mounting template are completely different, so that we needed to spend hours redrawing and redrilling holes. I would only recommend this to someone who is buying this model for the first time, and not replacing a previous model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
