HORRIBLE fan and vent. So loud and barely gets cooking smells vented out. Decent as a microwave but terrible as a vent hood.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We want to help go over the sounds and ventilation issues. On our over-the-range microwaves, it can be normal to hear the fan changes speeds and become louder during use. This can vary depending on the food you are cooking or amount of steam/smoke that is detected. As for the ventilation not performing as expected, we recommend trying a tissue test. Turn the vent fan on HIGH and hold a tissue or paper towel under the vent area. The suction should hold the tissue or paper towel in place. The draw is equal on both sides. It is normal to have some air blowing out of the top grill. If this test fails and the tissue doesn't stay in place, we recommend service. A lot of buttons to get familiar with, but having the surface light on (the microwave is right above my stove), I have found the inside of the microwave gets very hot.

Thanks for posting a review on your new microwave. It is normal for the cavity floor of the microwave to be warm, due to heat from the surface lights. Especially if they are on for a prolonged period.
