Lights are weak, and not even LED. Power is down from our previous 3 Spacemaker models.

The new microwave fits the space where the old microwave use to be. GE does a great job keeping sizes standard and consistent so replacement installation is simplified. The new microwave is a bit larger and deeper. Controls are handy, push button type, very similar to my previous GE microwave.

Solid Microwave for the price!

This microwave looks great and has worked as expected so far. Food heats up well and pretty evenly. I've had it for a couple months now and so far I can't complain. The only issue that I think could be improved is the installation instructions. Some instructions were contained in the cabinet templates. One egregious issue was the upper cabinet template having one procedure in English, then missing a key point of information as to where to place the template (rear wall vs cabinet front). This tidbit was located not in the procedure but after the Spanish instructions at the bottom of a rather cluttered page. My initial placement to the front probably caused me a lot of trouble installing the bolts through the upper cabinet into the unit. Further, the installation manual sometimes references the owner's manual which did not come with the microwave, ie for charcoal filter installation. I docked a star for this somewhat frustrating install experience.

Great over-the-counter microwave

As part of a kitchen remodel we wanted an over-the-counter microwave and were told that our current countertop model (which we loved) wouldn't work for the space. Although it doesn't have all the features of our countertop model (hence the 4 stars) it was the top rated model by Wirecutter and we are very happy with it so far.
