This is the second microwave of the same brand. The 1st only lasted a few weeks. After new parts (which cost more than the microwave) it still didn't work. After a little talking with the store where I bought it and 3 other appliances, they agreed to replace it. I chose the same one because I already had the site over the stove ready. When we took the microwave out of the box the side had a BIG dent. My husband wanted to take it back. I kept it because I didn't want the hassle. So far it has worked fine and I did get an extended warranty with it.

Decent microwave with poor over-the-range exhaust

I replaced my fifteen year old over-the-range microwave with this model. Its capacity, cooking ability, and controls are competent. The exhaust fan, however, is woefully inadequate -- it sounds like a jet engine but does not draw enough air to hold a tissue to the vent opening.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simple to operate, does what a microwave should do. I like the slate finish, it's easy to clean and looks nice, a good alternative to stainless.
