I love everything about this microwave except the display/numbers are dark/dim and I can't see my options unless I turn on the light in the kitchen. This tends to be an issue for me when I just want to warm up a cup of tea or something and I don't want to turn on the lights or find my reading glasses. it's probably not an issue for all the young healthy eyes out there.

I bought this to replace a GE Profile that crashed after 5 years of use. The control panel went out and repair was way too costly to be worthwhile. It was a great microwave and I really miss is. But no one informed me that one really needs to use the fan to prevent moisture from stove top cooking to create problems with the control panel. This microwave was purchased to replace my original. It has fewer features and the control panel requires much more touch pressure to respond. The automatic reheating feature overcooks foods, and I miss having a rack inside to accommodate more foods at the same time. The outer cover arrived dented and it took over a month to obtain a replacement part and have it properly installed. The turntable is a bit small. I don't think the sensor is as accurate as in my old Profile. However, it's in place and functioning for basic use. I purchased an extended warrantee on this one because I have confidence in the product's longevity without problems.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good microwave.

Works very well, but the surface of the key board is too shinny. this in conjunction with light lettering makes a tough for the elderly t to see which buttons to push for operation.

Some pluses, some minuses on this over but overall OK. It takes up the same space as the GE Advantage it replaced but the interior is smaller - meaning it won't accommodate larger platters or serving dishes. The control panel is "touch" driven but you have to punch it aggressively to make it respond. Also, the control panel is not lit so it is harder to see the writing especially in lower level lighting.
On the positive side, it still cooks just as well; has a two speed and quieter exhaust fan; and is more contemporary looking. I'm generally satisfied, just have to adjust to something new.

This is our 2nd 1.7 C.F. Over the Range Microwave Oven from G E and our continued satisfaction is well deserved. It's reliability and wide range of heating / cooking features holds up even with our fairly heavy use. Strong recommendation for a larger Over the Range Microwave Oven.

Looks great. Only 2 issues when comparing to previous GE microwave. 1) Panel does not light up making it very difficult to see choices and 2) turntable cannot be rotated by hand to get to item in the back.
