Works very well,,,,but the control panel is very dark which makes it.difficult to read!!
Previous GE Microwave was lighter in color and I miss that!!

Two things wrong right away.

From the store, the turntable did not work. Had to schedule a repair. After just a few uses the microwave has now stopped working entirely, even the lights don't work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Slate Date

We have been collecting slate appliances slowly for several years. There are microwaves with a more features, but those are not needed for us, 1000 watts is sufficient. Color match brings out cabinets and granite. The slate stove is next.

Beautiful design - nice color that will blend with stainless but without fingerprint issues. The two shelves are great! The only drawback is as others have written, there is not enough color contrast between the feature buttons and the background. The buttons should be brighter - it is difficult to see them in less than bright room light. It's like medium gray printing on a dark gray background. My husband put a small flashlight in the drawer near the micro. I think that once we are familiar with the buttons we use most often we won't need to "see" them. We have only had the micro for a couple of days. It is very quiet. Another nice feature is that you can disable the beeping if you don't happen to like it.

I haven't had this appliance very long, but already use it on a regular basis and love it! It' easy to operate and the multiple features are well placed and easy to read. It cooks all food the way I like it and is easy to keep clean and maintain.
