overheats and shuts off after use

I bought my first one about 18 months ago and it started overheating and shutting down and was out of the 1 year warranty period.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

love the look and the ease of use. Easy to clean also. Installation was harder than expected. The directions for putting the charcoal filter in was not accurate and I had to look up online. I have never owned a GE appliance before...honestly we choose it for the slate color.
I would recommend this to a friend!
