Makes a funny "zapping" noise

my GE microwave makes a funny "zapping" noise like maybe there's an electrical "short" or something. It performs well, but what an inconvenience to try to uninstall it and remove it to be sent back to manufacturer. Brand new.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
