We had excellent operation with our old model for 13 years - replaced it with this model which is the same as our previous model. Easy to install as the old bracket was the same.

New microwave

I bought this a few weeks ago to replace another GE over the range microwave. It is much quieter than my old microwave. I was specifically looking for the convenience buttons where you push 1 to 6 and it automatically starts. No looking for the "time" button, pushing the needed time and then looking for "start". If you haven't tried this it is very nice. It has a nice light to illuminate the cooktop. The vent fan doesn't seem to be as strong as my previous microwave, I must turn the vent on when opening my hot over or the rising heat sets the smoke detector off. I've had to turn it on for about half a minute before opening the oven to keep the detector from going off. I've noticed some steam build up on the inside of the microwave, the door fogs up. Overall I'm very happy with it, installation was easy with 2 people getting it onto the template on the wall. Pay attention to the venting, if it is recirculated Vs inside or outside venting you will most likely have to turn the fan from an outside venting position to the inside. A few simple screws, a 90 degree turn and you're good to go.

I purchased my first GE appliances in 1994 when I was having my house built. I recently put my home for sale with the original appliances. Absolutely nothing wrong with any of them. Only reason I replaced them is because my old ones were white, everyone wants new stainless steel. I donated the old ones to Habitat for Humanity. They were glad to have them.
