Does not work out of the box.

So I spent two hours getting it installed to finally get to the point of plugging it in and absolutely nothing happens. No lights, no control panel lighting up, nothing. Guess I should have gone ahead and tried plugging it in before putting it up above the stove, but why would I have thought to do that. (And yes, I have made sure my outlet has power).
Oh well. Nothing is perfect.
Product does look good though and the installation wasn't too bad. The top anchor bolts lined up with my last one I took down. I do wish they would have put the electric cord farther to the back right of the top of the unit so the core wouldn't go smack dab in the middle of my upper cabinet and now I loose some storage space because of it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the ease of use!

This microwave has so many settings and is so simple to use! The popcorn button pops the bag to perfection and you can choose up to 5 minutes with one simple touch of a button!

Great microwave

I bought microwave in February 2017, works great, but I wish vent light over the stove was located in the front or even center. it is located in the back and does not provide full coverage when I'm cooking on the stove.
I would recommend this to a friend!

In General a nice microwave

Just got this a few days ago and it is as easy to use as our old one which was a GE also. The old one ran for 17 years without a problem of any kind. Would have given this new one 5 stars if it werent for the very bad location of the underneath light that lights up the stove top area. It is set way too far back and is really pretty much useless. Also I see no need for a high and low setting for if its on low the light is so dim it is useless. My old one had a one position switch and lit up the whole stove top work surface. Its a shame such a bad piece of engineering was built into an otherwise really nice microwave.

Nice Microwave

Just got this to replace my 22 year old GE Microwave- yes 22 years! Love the new features- especially the Sensor feature and the nice look. I chose this model since it would fit right into the old spot and it was an easy installation. I'm very happy with it.

Wonderful Microwave!

After 8 years in my house, I decided it was time to update my microwave. I did the 'adult thing' and began researching brands and models. This microwave came up on the top of the list, and it has not disappointed. It not only thaws and cooks perfectly, it also looks great!

Model JVM6175EF1ES wasn't available to rate.
Several things have been an issue with this microwave. It is difficult to change the filter and the light bulbs. the guard to get to these two items is extremely difficult to remove and replace...resulting in broken tabs.
It does not sense well, so if you choose the pre-set items, they will be painfully hot, burnt, or boil over.

As a microwave this does the job. The size is great and accommodates dinner size plates. As this is positioned over the stove, I rely on the vent to suck up the smoke from cooking/frying foods. Unfortunately, as with so many other microwaves, this GE model falls short in that department. I have to open up nearby windows and doors to help ventilate the kitchen (which is open to the rest of the house). I would recommend the microwave, as a microwave and nothing more.
