Ok performance - quirky sounds

This microwave performs adequately, however, there are odd sounds associated with its use. When you punch in the time and power level there is a strange clicking noise and there is a power surge and rattle of the chamber when the heating time approaches the end.
The door handle feels cheap and has already discolored within just a few months
time. (I purchased the stainless steel model.)

We like the features especially the Sensor settings. We always use the beverage sensor for reheating of our coffee and other hot beverages. Streamlined look, clean white interior. The only negative so far (only had it for about 3 months) is that the vent fan on both high and low is extremely loud. Can't talk over it.

Much better unit than the two GE microwave/convection combos that both broke before this one. I love being able to shut the SOUND off so it is quiet.

Nice microwave

We bought this microwave to replace our 24 year-old GE Microwave. We wanted white and we wanted GE to make sure that it would fit in the old spot, so we didn't have a lot to choose from. This microwave is very nice. It's a little bigger than our old microwave. It seems to work fine. We've had it about a month now. We did have to use the brackets that came with it. We thought we'd be able to use the old ones, but they were slightly different from 24 years ago. It was an easy installation. My husband installed it.
I would have given 5 stars if the light underneath was in the front instead of the back. It is okay and it is bright enough, but I mostly use the front burners and they are not as lit as the back burners now. Also, the display panel has smaller buttons than our old model and I prefer the bigger easier-to-see buttons. It takes me a while to find the buttons I want to push. For the price, it is a very satisfactory microwave. If it lasts another 24 years, I will be very happy with it!

I've always had a counter top microwave but a recent kitchen redo included an over the range microwave. This one is great. Easy to use. Perfect level for me. My only complaint is the stove light. It is too far back to be of any use to us. This is very disappointing.

My GE microwave works well. I have had no problems with it. It heats things as it should. I have found the the potato setting does not work at all it shuts off way before the potato is cooked. I also had this problem with my last microwave, so I believe it may be that I only cook one or two potatoes at a time. The defrost also does not work so well it will cook the edges of the meat and leave the interior raw. I Think this is reasonable, as the meat usually is not the same density in all areas. The edges are usually thinner. My other microwaves also did the same thing. I have not tried any of the other preset buttons. It does however reheat and boil water, and cook vegetables very well. All in all I am pleased with it, but not ecstatic about it.
