Great Microwave, installation a little difficult.

The microwave works great, replacing our 25 year old GE that finally quit. Love the new features, including various automated shortcut buttons for heating/cooking typical items, melting butter, reheating meals, though timing/temp sensor is a little too long on "Plate" setting, (reheating leftovers on a plate), and things get VERY hot and splatter a bit. Appearance over our range is great. Installation, which our son and I did...we are not pros, but have somewhat above average mechanical aptitudes...was more difficult than it needed to be. And the microwave is fairly heavy, though not as heavy as the old one. Instructions were confusing, pictures not clear and too small, and left out some important details. If our previous microwave had not been a GE (mounting templates/measurements and included mounting hardware still fit old bolt and screw holes and location of outside vent...though a lot of work was needed to make that a good and certain fit, since you can't see exactly how microwave and wall vents line up), installation would have been even more difficult. Control panel could use more distinctive buttons for various functions...still have to look carefully for proper selection. But it's OK and we'll learn it.

Love the reheat and melt, doesn't leave a mess inside, the exhaust fan has 2 speeds, the underneath light has 2 settings,you can mute the sounds made by the buttons and the end of cycle ringer so it doesn't disturb anyone at night.
