How can a product not have any light underneath the buttons to illuminate what each one is? Terrible design

Nice fit with my suite

I wanted a GE microwave replacement for mine that failed after 13 years. I ordered a suite of GE kitchen appliances with my new home. From what I am seeing the GE microwave served me very well. The decor fit well with my other GE appliances. If this microwave lasts as long I will be pleased, The only complaint is that my old microwave had 2 shelves the replacement has none. I can adapt but wondering if I can really live without a shelf. With a shelf I could microwave multiple items. Stay tuned...

The only hitch I find in this microwave is it does not have special everyday settings printed on the microwave itself like the last one I had
