Can't see the touchpad-unless a well lit area!!

I got this as a replacement to a 15 yr old one-through a home warranty program- I don't use it THAT often..but when I do-if there isn't PLENTY of lighting to see the touchpad -it's pretty impossible to see!--No back light to see any of the buttons...The microwave itself works fine-so if you have great vision and a well lit kitchen it's fine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
