I bought this in March 2018. After installing, plugged it in, started the exhaust fan. It made a loud vibration noise. Pulled it down, checked the fan mount(s). One mount wasn't fully installed in the housing (plastic leg was not in the slot). Reinstalled unit. It works fine.

what a lot of noise it makes

Our 5 yr old above the stove top ceased to work so we had to buy one that would fit the opening. The writing on the touch screen with the controls is so light it is hard to see. When running the microwave makes much more noise than any we have had.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
