Again, I must give this appliance only 4 stars instead of 5. GE really needs to work on their directions/manual. This model DOES have a popcorn button even though the specs say there is "no popcorn button". If you enlarge the picture, you can plainly see "popcorn" on the top left of the display.
The flimsy template to install for under the cabinet was worthless. In order for you to put the template up, you need to tape it everywhere. My husband suggested that GE make the template out of cardboard. It can't be more expensive to do. Or if GE was really smart, they would print the template on the box so all you would have to do was to cut it from the box.
GE, you need to think out of the box or use the box!

We love the fact that it has a mute option. Being able to turn the sound off when the grandchild is sleeping was very important to us.

I purchased this 4 months ago and I love it. I works so much faster than my older microwave. The only thing that isn't working 100% correctly is the vent fan. It is suppose to have 3 modes high, low and off. Unfortunately the high and the low both run at a high level, there is no low vent speed. It isn't enough to return this because everything else about this microwave is great!!!

Great looking microwave but other issue

The microwave looks great and is very quiet. Here is the reason for the avg rating. Depending upon what you are cooking/heating up if it isn't on the right type of dish, the microwave doesn't seem to warm/cook the food. Example, put 6 taquitos on a plate that is microwave safe, hit the 1 minute and still frozen but plate is very warm. Took the taquitos off the plate and put directly on the turntable, hit 1 minute and they were warm. Not sure why it warms on turntable, but not a microwavable plate. So it is frustrating to figure out what dish will and will not work in it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
