I purchased this to match my new range and love that it's big enough to cook/heat just about anything. It's quiet and I also love that it did not require the addition of a vent. Slowly learning all of the features!

OK, but some minor issues

I bought this as a replacement for our similar GE over the range microwave that lasted about 18 years. I went with this one as it was white (wife wanted white, and most everything is stainless today, without many white options), and also was hoping the top venting would line up with our previous venting custom exhaust lines (which it thankfully did). Issues: Fan has an extremely high pitch squeal (which the wife can't stand), and the lighting has two small halogen G8 pin type bulbs of 40 Watts (which the wife hated as she says it's too dim). I sealed any and all gaps around the microwave to cut down on the high pitched squeal sound of the fan, which made it better, but she can still only tolerate the sound on low speed. I replaced the 40 w bulbs with 75 watt. It gets hot from the heat of the halogen bulbs underneath, but at least she is happy with the lighting. I could not find any LED pin type bulbs with that amount of light output. I told her to just not leave it on all day, with that kind of heat.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Microwave Oven...

This microwave oven has all of the features that I was looking for and it easy to use. When I remodeled my kitchen I choose to use slate gray appliance and this over the range microwave fit the design of my new kitchen.

We have bought three microwaves all GE. This is over a 40 year span. All have been reliable and easy to use. Love this new one with the sensor feature,also the lighting is so much brighter than the old one.
