I had this installed by a professional no problem but when I went to use it I had problems pressing the buttons to start. I finally figured out I had to use my knuckle on my finger to press the panel hard enough. Inside plate much smaller than my previous GE micro wave. You have to download manueI would not recommend this model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased what I thought was a middle of the road microwave that would match what I have for our other new appliances. This definitely seems on the cheaper side to me and doesnt feel solid like my last microwave or other new GE appliances. It's nice overall, but every time I open or close the door it feels and sounds kind of hollow sounding instead of a solid feel. Could be that our last one was just better quality.

We bought our microwave from Sears and it has worked well. Our main criticism is the is the brightness of the clock light.

I bought this to replace a broken other brand microwave. I was not looking to spend a lot of money and I only need basic features as I primarily use the microwave to reheat or defrost and rarely to cook. This does the job, nothing fancy.
Installation was pretty straightforward although we had forgotten to put the cover on the outside vent opening (we are using recirculate mode) And had to unbolt it from the overhead cabinet. In doing so, one of the bolts became stuck and wrenching it off resulted in messed up threads and was impossible to reuse it. Finding this replacement bolt has proven to be a bit cumbersome. It is not something you can go to hardware store to replace easily. Other than that, I would recommend it if you want a simple to use, basic microwave.
