there is no back lighting for the control features and hard to read day time or night time,

The control panels on our over-the-range microwaves are not backlit with the exception of our over-the-range Advantium ovens. Your model has a lot of great features we know you will like. A lot of bang for the buck here. First, I love that you can easily turn off the beeping sounds. Great for those who might be sleeping when the unit is being used. You can also turn on and off the turntable. The stove light towards the back of the unit. However, this is a plus. Unless you cook on your stove with the rest of the kitchen in the dark, this illuminates the back of the stove where ceiling lights may not be effective. And, it does adequately light of the entire stovetop. Finally, this just plain looks good above my stove.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Replacing another GE microwave .. Fingers crossed

Replacing another GE microwave, which lasted barely 3 years. I decided to get another GE, just for ease of installation. Otherwise was considering purchasing a different brand, as honestly 3 years is not acceptable. I have my fingers crossed that this one last longer, although I doubt it as it seems to be made of flimsier material than the last one.

This is my 2nd replacement. First one just stopped working after about a month. And now, the turntable has stopped working. Good thing I bought the extended warranty through my retail store and they are reliable. Hopefully 3rd time is it!
