It’s an average microwave but the construction leaves much to be desired. Put something in it. Hit the timer. Close the door and the filter falls off. No matter how carefully you replace it. It falls off every time the door is closed. This makes me question the quality of the product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you're replacing them as it states on page 20 of your Use and Care manual, which you can see here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-7000095.pdf - and they're still falling out, then service may be needed to investigate more closely.

It's a GE Product - Microwave

I love buying GE Products. My last Microwave was a GE and it lasted me 20 years. Can't beat that. Wish it had a Pizza setting/button like my old one did.

Very disappointed

This product replaces an another GE that was very similar; it's probably just a new model of the same one. We have only been using this one for about a month, and these are my initial observances. The "touch" sensors take a lot of pressure to work. Old microwave cancelled after a short period if there was still time left. The reminder screen on this one stays on indefinitely until it is cancelled (one more difficult button to press). Touch panel is very difficult to read without a bright light. Couldn't it have been white lettering on black instead of gray on black? The controls seem to all be in the wrong place. The mostly used ones (start, cancel, add 30 min., etc.) should be at the bottom where they can be found easily without searching.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Broken handle, do not buy

Like every review on this microwave, my handle broke. And all my neighbors (whose houses were built at the same time with the same microwaves) all have broken handles too.
This is a well known and well documented flaw, and it’s ludicrous to have to pay the wild amount of money for a new handle as well as the service fee.
GE should be offering free replacements for a flaw that exists in literally every one of these microwaves they sold.

Federal law requires that any adjustment or repair of a microwave door also be followed up by a leak test to make sure of proper fit, operation, and alignment. This must be done by a qualified technician.
