This microwave replace our old GE microwave which we had for many trouble-free years...probabyly 15 yrs old. It just died one day and there was no question about its replacement, another GE. Why not?

Worst over stove microwave I have ever owned

The microwave is ill conceived. The lighting for the stove top is extremely inadequate, the features were poorly thought out by the design team. The turn table sounds like it is out of it's track when in use. The exhaust fan whistles on high is inadequate on low. The size is much smaller than our previous GE unit, this unit replaced. Overall, we are very disappointed and will be replacing this with a different manufacture within 30 days, regardless of the extra cost we must incur.

We bought this microwave to replace the GE brand unit that was already in the house when we moved in. The old one must have been nearly 20 years old and served us so well for its final years that there was no question a new GE was going in. It was a snap to install, the controls are easy to understand and use, the unit is quiet, and designed to be easy to keep clean. We expect this microwave will still be sturdily serving when we move on years down the road!
