Nice microwave

I love the appearence of it and it's feature's. The only thing that is aggrivating to me is the extra step I have to take to heat something up. In the past with all the microwaves all I did was punch in the numbers for whatever seconds or minutes I needed and hit start. Now I have to hit the "cook time" button first and then the amount of time and then hit start. I know, a bit trivial but it annoys me. If you just hit the number buttons first it starts a short cut for something else. It has some nice features thought which I have not used yet. I am not a big microwave person...I try to use the stove/oven more. It is a very nice microwave though.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We just had installed a full 4-piece GE kitchen appliance suite 5 days ago. We got an excellent deal on all of the appliances, and thus far this microwave is working just fine. It is very attractive, but I know it will require a lot of hand/fingerprint removal. I do wish the control panel was backlit; it is difficult o read the dull gray lettering against the black background, and if a bright kitchen light is shining on it, the glare makes it even more difficult to read.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So far so good. Only had it a week but more powerful, larger, mote features and easier to clean ( by far) than our old GE.

Not what I would expect from GE

I have three complaints about the microwave.
1) The carousel looks like it is struggling to make a revolution. Its speed is inconsistent like it's about to stop, slowing and speeding up.
2) The lettering for the buttons is grey instead of white. I have trouble reading them without my reading glasses. I'm sure this won't be a problem once I have gotten use to the positioning, but it is irritating now.
3) The door is loud when it closes. It sounds "cheep."

easy to operate and to clean

need to find a 'basic' microwave after the one over my stove 'died' after 29 years!. Selected this model as it was just what I wanted without too many 'bells and whistles'
