Not one to complain but the panel is all scratched and it sure would be nice if it was lighted, you have to turn a bright light on to see what function you want to choose.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My other microwave wasn't that old when it went out, it also had features like the popcorn timer that didn't work right. This one makes popcorn to perfection, and all the other features work very well too. Now I'm glad the other one had to be replaced since I now have a very good one.

I had another Ge over the counter and I replaced it with another microwave that wouldn't allow me to use the timer for a timer and allow me to cook at the same time. I promptly took it back and purchased this GE which I love.

Finally bought an over the range microwave and we are so glad that we did. It was easy for my husband to install himself, it is easy to use, SUPER quiet, and looks sharp. All while being affordable!

We purchased this microwave less than a year ago and it started to malfunction. The company replaced the microwave free of charge. This microwave is a great value.
