Great features and fast cooking

This is a step up from our last GE microwave because we wanted stainless steel. Lots of nice features and it seems to cook faster than the last one.

Our over the range microwave quit after 20 years and with the help of our knowledgeable salesman, was able to replace it perfectly between two cabinets. The features are great.

Cons: - Light has a strange half-second "off" period when toggling between high and low - Light on low setting is a little too dim, not very useful - Overall much louder in operation than previous models (losing 2 stars from me on this point) - Buttons on the control pad don't respond very well to my inputs, it seems like they almost have to be held down for just shy of a full second in order for inputs to register

While we are delighted you are pleased with the appearance, cooking performance and the visibility of the display, we are concerned with your description of the manner in which the cooktop lamp switch operates, as well as the lack of responsiveness from the controls. We would recommend having the microwave checked by an authorized GE service to ensure its operating properly. You may call 1-800-432-2737 to do so.
Also, you mentioned you felt the "low" light setting to be too dim to be useful. The low light setting is intended to operate like a night light, your description would be normal. Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

I bought this microwave based on four different criteria, one of which was the number of surface/night light bulbs. The specifications said this microwave had two bulbs, which is what I wanted. Upon receiving the microwave, we found that it has only one surface light bulb. Customer service confirmed that the product had been modified to have only one bulb now, but the online specs were never updated. After using the microwave, I’m not impressed with the sensor cooking. All of our sensor-cooked food has been way too hot/overcooked. I have also found no difference between 50% power and 100% power when heating food. So can we heat our food in this microwave? Yes Am I happy with how it performs? No
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
