Useless after just over a year

Our microwave randomly shut off while microwaving a potato. We unplugged and plugged it in, then the display briefly turned on showing all available characters, then shut off again. Sometimes when shutting the door the display would light up showing the gibberish of all characters, but only for about 2 seconds. Other devices plugged into the same outlet work. We even reset the breaker. Our relatively new microwave is now useless.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It already stopped working

Just under two years and this microwave stopped working. This is very frustrating. Wondering why this microwave has so many problems!?!? Any thoughts GE?

Hoping this microwave lasts

We have been through several GE microwaves in the past 23 years (our refrigerator and range however, have lasted 23 years and is still going strong). I was telling the nice serviceman about our experience with microwaves and recommended that we never open the door while in use; always pause or end before opening. This is good to know!

Microwave stopped working

The microwave broke in 3 years. It stopped working in May 2023, and we tried to fix it by manually replacing the diode and capacitor. We purchased a new one and replaced it and it started to work again. But then, only a couple months later, the microwave broke again.. super unreliable. It's better to get a microwave that will last longer than this one. I don't recommend anyone to get this microwave.

This is a replacement microwave for a built-in cabinet over our cooktop. We went with this GE microwave because we were happy with the previous GE microwave and because it fit in the cabinet. (It is, however, slightly shorter than our previous one.) Our main complaint is it is not as high quality as our previous one. It is tinny sounding when the door is opened and closed, noisier when running, the surface light is not as bright so it does not shed as much light on the cooktop below. and it does not respond to settings as quickly as our older model. We would not recommend to anyone the purchase of this microwave. The lasting impression is that GE is cheapening their appliances.

Failed quickly

New build and included this model in upgrade and has stopped working just over a year old. The ventilation is also pretty weak with cheap vent covers.
