I love the light, and the fan is a great help with smoke alarm issues! I absolutely am in love with the MUTE button! I have a bit of trouble reading the buttons in the evening....gray on black is not a great idea for older eyes, but so worth it!

This gets used every day all day long in the office kitchen. We had one major issue and it died after two years. What is the typical life span of these.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I chose the micro hood because it had the shortest depth I could find at 15”. Didn’t want it to look too big and stick out to far from the surrounding cabinets, they are only 13” deep. It looks perfect, hope it lasts along time. I wish other brands would offer this shallow depth too, it looks great with the cabinets and does not hang out to far or look oversized for the space. Other brands are getting way to big.

I tried the "potato" option. It was great! It took a little getting used to, but I got the hang of it.
