Had to buy a new one within a year of purchasing

Quality control is an issue. A part went out within a year of owning it and was told that it was cheaper to buy a brand new one as opposed to fixing it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good enough unit with a strange design choice.

A reasonable replacement for the retired 15 year old unit that was nearly identical. This new one has an odd design choice that is worth addressing. The fan vents through an opening at the front top of the unit. The opening has no grate or grill to prevent things from falling into it. Seems to be an strange situation. I don't like that. Other than that, if it holds up, this unit will suit our needs.

We replaced our previous GE spacemaker with a new model. We loved our spacemaker but that no longer exists. The new one has most of the previous features. All that we need. Capacity is the same. Perfect for our household. Controls are changed a bit and not as intuitive as previous model. Installation took a 1/2 hour by a professional which I recommend. This model makes a little more noise than the other one and that is a disappointment. Good model to purchase. I would highly recommend.

Only lasted for 4 years

This microwave stopped heating food at about 4 years old. The repair would of cost about the same as purchasing a new one. It was replaced with this same model because I like the features and the way it looks, and I did not have to reinstall the wall bracket and drill new holes in the cabinet. Hopefully this one will last for many more years.

I am so happy with my slate microwave.....no fingerprints to wipe off constantly and a color that matches my wood and countertops beautifully. It is sleek and modern looking and I love the features.
