Piece of junk

If I could give zero stars, I would. This thing stopped working after 20 months. So it's out of it's 1-year warranty. I've had microwaves that lasted 10+ years. This thing is an absolute piece of junk.

Installation Nightmare

The mounting bracket for this product is not a universal design. Unlike the u-shaped brackets of some brands, it’s a single, flimsy strip, which would not work with my cabinet as-is. I spent hours pulling together and installing materials that would make the provided bracket work, as GE had no other options. (A GE service rep recommended that I contact a local supply house. ) Though I used blocks at the front, one of the cams dislodged to the point that I could only snug down one of the screws at the top of the cabinet. The installation instructions are not specific to this model alone, and it required extra unnecessary steps. I’ve installed microwaves before. This experience was the worst. The unit looks good, but I have concerns about its quality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the express cook buttons lil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just had this microwave installed yesterday, but my first impressions are mostly positive.
Pros: • Great quick-cook options: The express cook buttons are extremely convenient—being able to hit one button for 1–6 minutes is something I use constantly. The dedicated Reheat and Melt functions work well so far and take the guesswork out of warming leftovers or softening butter. • Bright, clean interior: I really like the white interior. It lights up well and makes it easier to see how food is cooking or if anything needs to be cleaned. • Fingerprint-resistant finish: The stainless steel looks sharp, and the fingerprint-resistant coating actually works. After multiple uses and opening/closing, it still looks clean without constant wiping. • Even heating: Everything I’ve reheated so far has warmed evenly, and the sensor cooking seems to do a good job adjusting time automatically.
Cons: • Louder than expected: It runs noticeably louder than my previous over-the-range microwave. It’s not unbearable, but it’s definitely a step up in noise level. • Door quality feels lighter: The door doesn’t feel as solid or heavy as my last microwave. It has a bit of a flimsy feel when opening and closing, which surprised me for a GE model. • Quiet chime: The alert chime is very soft. If you’re in another room—or even if there’s background noise—you may not hear it when your food is done or when using the timer function.
Overall: Despite a few minor complaints, I’m happy with it so far. It looks great, has useful features, and heats food evenly. I’ll update the review if anything changes over time, but for now it’s a solid choice with a few quirks to be aware of.

Get a different microwave!

Just purchased this microwave. Got the same one I had thinking it would be the same quality, boy was I wrong. The first one died after under 8 years, btw. This oven feels very cheap, could tell the difference right away! The door is flimsy and slams hard and noisily. The plate sits up about an 1" off the floor vs flat to the bottom like the last one. WHY? Can catch your bowl or plate on the edge easily. The existing brackets didn't work, had to drill and use new ones. WHY? Very disappointed! PS, I needed new washer/dryer as well. The reviews for GE appliances are horrible so I bought a different brand. Hope things change for this company soon. Also delivery was moved out 2 weeks the day before delivery with no explanation, so I found one in stock vs. Home Dept
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As for the mounting brackets, we do not recommend using old brackets to install a new model. You need to use the new brackets that come with the new microwave.

SHORT LIFE!

Thought I bought a quality product from GE. This microwave lasted less than 3 years. Have had to 'reset' it several times thru the 3 years, not exactly what you expect from a GE product. Microwave runs, but does not heat. Will not be buying any more GE products.
