This microwave was super easy to install as it lined right up on the mounting bracket with an older GE. The value for the price is great and the microwave does its job well.

Loved the GE microwave i had before this one. Broke down after 2 years. Costs more to repair than replace. This new one has great features and cleans easily. I hope it lasts a long time.

Heats things up quickly, lots of features including sensor, turn turntable off and on, reheat. Its quiet and a nice upgrade from our last one.

It's a microwave, so it checks that box and does what I need. But it has no heart and soul in it, and it conveys a lack of attention to detail.
The materials could be better. My last microwave was also a GE - pretty much the exact same model actually but just the 10 years newer version. And my last microwave had plastic door hinge parts with a door switch that ended up going bad. I replaced it and when I did, I saw all the weak and low-quality plastic material used. This microwave uses the same plastic door hinges, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if the interior had the same low-quality issues, including the door switch that will probably go bad in several years. They don't build things to last anymore, and I'm almost certain this is an intentional design consideration (i.e., they want you to replace the whole microwave rather than fix what's wrong).
The lights on the unit are much too bright. On my last unit, I could read the time from about twice as far as I can on this one. The lights on this unit are so bright, it all looks like a bright white light from afar.
This microwave also feels too “industrial” – it has no finesse. Closing the door sounds like a car door closing. Turning the microwave on, you hear a couple of clicks as it something is engaging before the unit turns on and makes a sound like an industrial fan is running.
Like I said, no heart and soul. They're taking shortcuts on material quality, there’s an obvious lack of attention to detail, and it has no finesse. If you’re wondering why I bought this unit in the first place if I’m not super satisfied with GE, it’s because GE did do one thing right! Like I said, I’m replacing my 10-year-old unit that broke with this one because it’s pretty much the same, just newer model. So the mounting hardware on this unit is the exact same. I originally wanted a different microwave, but I would have had to mess around with drilling into tile and cabinetry. I wanted to avoid all that, so this microwave was a perfect swap out with the old one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
