Microwave looks nice. I got slate color. Great features such as add 30 sec, and turntable on/ off. Heats up food quickly. Easy to clean.

My Second GE MICROWAVE

I demonstrated the early use of a huge, clunky microwave in 1960 at the University of Illinois, but his new modern model is so much more beautiful and useable that I must share my delight. It is fast, efficient, and so easy to clean! I've had a number of older models since the late 1960's but this one ranks top in every way! It is great example of product evolution.

Almost a Five, but could be better.,

Instructions were lacking, but luckily I’ve done this before. Missing a section on rotating the fan assembly for nonduct venting. Missing the step to remove the wall hanging frame from the back of the microwave. Missing the owners manual, you must download it. The microwave is very well packaged with all the instructions and hardware on top. Microwave is very light weight when compared to my 2002 GE microwave. They do not give you enough screws if you have studs to screw into or if you don’t. There are two lags screws and two wing anchors, but you may need 4 lag screws or 4 wing anchors and 1 lag screw depending on the studs in your wall. Luckily I had extra ones. I used 4 wing anchors and 2 lag screws. The metal frame you screw to the wall is lighter metal than the one that held up my existing microwave. There are only two bolts that hold the microwave to the upper cabinet resulting in a gap between the upper cabinet and the center of the microwave. My old GE microwave had an extra bolt in the center to resolve this issue. Overall I am satisfied with the ease is installation and the look of the microwave. The other issue was that since the microwave is not ducted to the outside, the installation and owners manual reference the need for a charcoal filter, but neglected to inform you of its part number and also that there was one already installed in the microwave. I spent hours trying to find the charcoal filter part number, the installation and owners manual were no help and the GE website was even less help. There are many different charcoal filter on their website varying widely in price. Even the online part diagram for my microwave did not reference the charcoal filter. I was surprised to see one already installed after I completed my installation and removed all the protective wrap and tape. The grease filter underneath the microwave is very flimsy, mine was bent right out of the box and I had to bend it back into shape. I got it to fit, but may have to request a new one.

Beautiful look

Love the aesthetics of the microwave and installation was a breeze, but the damper for the ventilation fan is total garbage! It bends and breaks if you breath to hard on it! Had to use the one off my 17 year old microwave. Other than that it is a good product for the price.
