This GE microwave replaced a 10-year old microwave that was turning on by itself. It's very easy to use but I haven't really used all of it's features. It has a nice finish to it.

We love this microwave. It replaced our original one in the house that was nearly 25 years old. This one is bigger, rotates, and we love that we can use it while the timer is still working. The only thing we do not like is the surface lights are not bright enough.

Makes a loud noise every time the door is closed. Can't put something in the oven ahead of time (overnight), then push the button. Have to put something in the oven and push the button soon afterward. Doesn't always beep when the time is up. When pushing the light on, it shines downward onto the stove instead of on the buttons.

Timer and light issues

The timer will not stop until you press the timer again. My previous microwave would pause for a minute or two, then beep again, and repeat. After the 3rd attempt, it would just stop. This one just keeps on beeping, which is very annoying. Also, the light is too far back, so it only illuminates the back burners on my cooktop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
