Hey everyone . This was my first time purchasing and installing an OTR microwave. We replaced a very high quality Kenmore appliance. After much comparing and contrasting, we came up with this one, for the following reasons : - Has the turntable on/off button ( that was a big one with the wife) - Brand name - Good reviews - Sensor cooking feature - White ! - Value for money
Installation was not bad, ( do read the manual first ) and fortunately the screws at the top fit in right through the existing holes in the cabinet. Too early to say right now if this will hold up for a long time, but we did purchase a protection plan just in case.
The one gripe - the display seems too bright and no way to reduce the glare.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Replaced previous GE microwave that only lasted two years as fuse kept going out with the same model as all other appliances are GE and need to match. New one is much louder than one old one even though same model. Very disappointing.

It’s average as microwaves go. A couple of irritating points...the door is quite stiff and must be slammed to close...also my st press “cook time” button before entering desired amount of time.

two GE microwaves, different hanging brackets....

seriously GE? i just replaced a GE microwave that was about 10 years old (OK no spring chicken so i was happy with that one), with this new MW. I made sure to get a GE in the hope that the hanging brackets and other installation items were the same so i could essentially plug and play. OK if it were very different, i'd chalk it up to product improvements, but the details and hardware were almost identical except every hole needed to be drilled about 2 inches away from the original. and every hanging tab, was off by about 1 inch so I couldn't just use the same hanging brackets. Very poor engineering!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello - We are sorry you experienced difficulty installing your new microwave. When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. While the space needed for the new microwave is the same, we do recommend using the new mounting bracket and hardware that is packaged with the new microwave. Consequently, it is possible new holes would have to be created to accommodate the new bracket. We apologize for any inconvenience it has caused. The fan runs continuously

The fan runs continuously from the time you start the microwave till you press the stop or cancellation button. And no way to shut the fan off while microwave is running. And it’s not quiet at all.

Hello, Thanks for sharing your concern and giving us a chance to help. All our over-the-range microwaves have an automatic fan feature that protects both the electronic controls from overheating, as well as too much heat rising from the cooktop below it. It automatically turns on at low speed if it senses heat.
If you have turned the fan on, you may find that you cannot turn it off. The fan will automatically turn off when the internal parts are cool. It may stay on for 30 minutes or more after the cooktop and microwave controls are turned off. As with any mechanical appliance, it will produce some noise.

Love that there are “2” surface lights

Well I am a GE only appliances owner, my reason are they last longer, my previous sets were 14 years old…so how can I go wrong by remaining faithful…
