Pretty and functional

A normal microwave. Does the basics a microwave should do. Chose primarily because it matched the other appliances- but we have no big complaints. Sometimes makes some clunky noises while cooking.

The Microwave is very nice and has a lot of nice options. The only problem that we have is that the key pad stops working! I think we will have to get it fixed or get a replacement.

Hello,

We're incredibly sorry to hear that your microwave keypad is not working properly and understand your concern. If the microwave key panel is not responding or working properly, check the following:


Make sure that the microwave is plugged into a grounded outlet. It must be a 3-prong outlet.
Make sure the clock is set.
Check to see if a programming sequence was entered. Sometimes improper programming or a program sequence such as delay start can cause the touch panel to be non-responsive. Unplug microwave or turn off house circuit breaker for 30 seconds. Plug back in, or reset circuit breaker, and try reprogramming unit.
Check the house circuit breaker. If the microwave is DEAD and there is no display and nothing works- the problem could be a blown fuse or tripped breaker.

Another JVM6175

This is a replacement for the GE microwave model that preceded it. Old one lasted 6 years and at the end, the fan came on whenever the door was open and finally it tripped the breaker and was DOA. This new one is quiet, fan is off when door is open, and is functioning perfectly. Same size as previous, although I could not use the same rear wall mounting bracket. So far, I am pleased! Hope this one lasts longer than 6 years.

OK but not as substantail as it's JVM6175 predeser

This microwave is supposedly a direct replacement for my previous one but it's easy to tell that it is made more cheaply. It weighs a lot less and the cabinet has a hollow, tinny sound when the door is closed. The fan is also louder. Just hope it lasts a while.

Easy to replace old one!

Looks great, nice features compared to many, so many choices decided to stay with GE.
Our old unit died after 19 years of use -big bonus was the install template for the new one matched the old one -so no new holes to drill or even the wall mount -that was an unexpected plus! Too new to assess durability, -but less weight than old unit -typical of so much made today.
I would recommend this to a friend!

GE Over range microwave

I purchased this microwave to replace my 3 year old GE microwave that stopped heating 2 months after warranty. This microwave quit heating after 2 months of use. Luckily I purchased a 5 year warranty. Lemon
