This is a much needed cd dropped by one of the best mc's of all time. The cd was pushed back due to the original title being so controversial, but this did not change the message that Nas was trying to get across to the listener. Nas has always been a different type of mc. He has slowly evolved into a more conscious rapper over time. Nas can make music for the streets, but he can also make meaningful records that make you think. This is probably his best cd lyrically. Production wise the beats aren't bad, but could have been chosen better. Overall this is a great cd on par with early Public Enemy cds, as well as KRS ONE due to the politically motivated songs. Nas truely is not afraid to speak his mind and this was a much needed cd with the current state of hip hop being so commercialized.

This is a great CD. I've been following Nas since the beginning, and I believe this record has his best works yet. Lyrics are awesome. You know it's all coming from his soul. All his recent experiences are put into verses with music bumping in the background. Some may find this CD a bit too political, or preachy at times. But this is Nas. He will give you his experiences, how he sees the world through his eyes, take from them what you want to.
