Stay away from GE

This oven is only 4 years old and after the warranty ran out, I have had a service tech out 4 times. The oven does not keep the temperature so everything you cook is undercooked! Already replaced the heating element, motherboard and had it recalibrated still having the same problem.. This oven is a lemon and GE will not stand behind it! It is not a cheap oven either! Pretty sad when companies do not stand behind their products!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really enjoy using this oven, and utilize it multiple times a week.
Pro: It bakes evenly on the multiple rack convection baking. Last night I had 2 9X13 pans full of enchiladas, and a half sheet baking sheet of taquitos on the 3 racks. I went to rotate the 9X13 pans half way through, and they looked identical. 3 full sheets of cookies don't finish at the same time, but I don't rotate them either. I just take out each sheet when it is done.
Pro: Meat probe does a really great job on my meatloaf and on my loaf of bread.
Pro: Proof Mode - from what I can tell, it uses just the light bulbs to heat the oven, so if the kitchen is really cold, it takes a while for the oven to get to that 100 degree temperature. At least I don't have to risk it getting to hot.
Pro: One of the included racks glides in and out really easily. I think it has ball bearings or something like that.
Pro: I have never really broiled food, other than garlic bread, until now. I broiled some steaks for the first time ever, and they turned out beautifully. The crisping function is amazing for finishing up items that you want just a little brown on top.
Pros: The convection fan is so quite that sometimes I wonder if it is even running. So when I first got it, I would open the door, and listen for it to slow down and stop. (My other GE Profile range the fan is so loud that everyone knows it is on).
Pro & Con: Must push the "start" button for the oven to turn on.
Con: The "broil" function can not be used with "time bake" function. (On my other oven I would turn on broil, set the time bake for 3 minutes, and then go back to other things, and the oven would shut off on its own. If the item needed more time, I would set timer and do it again). Because the broil and time bake do not work together, I feel like I have to sit and babysit the food.
Con: The door does not always fully shut. Every time I use my oven, I shut the door, and then push against it to ensure it is closed. The light stays on if it is not fully closed.
Con: The oven takes along time to fully pre-heat. So as per the instruction manual, I remove any additional racks that I am not using and put them in another room behind a chair to prevent my kids from damaging them.
Con: Every splatter sticks to the surface, making it really difficult to clean. I tried using the baking soda and vinegar solution, and thought I had it all out. The next time I used it, the convection fan blew it out of the cracks all over the oven. (There are tons of cracks/crevices in this oven). The glass window is even difficult to clean. Many websites say that the "self-clean" cycle will damage the circuit board, so I have never used it on this or any-other oven that I have owned.
Con: Some of the convection buttons auto-adjust down the 25 degrees, and some of them don't. I can't remember which ones do, and which ones don't, so I have to look at my printed instruction sheet when I set my oven. It would be nice to know when I set the oven for 375 that it is going to cook at 375 and not 350. (My other GE profile range would show the temperature as 350 when I typed in the 375) Since this oven is not the most expensive in the GE line-up maybe a more expensive version does.
Con: GE does not puts "stage cooking" on any of these wall ovens. On my GE profile range, I could set a "time bake" and the oven would move to "warm" when it was done cooking. I really miss this feature.
