I bought this because it had the only dimensions that would fit where the dead double wall oven had gone. It was the only option without a total kitchen remodel. Both ovens are twice as slow to heat up as the old. Both baking and broiling take longer. Recommended positioning for broiling is too low. I don't like convection results so don't use that feature. If you like good old fashioned cooking and have the space, buy something else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wife loves it - but

New 1 month ago - Wife just loves having a double oven again with convection and sturdy racks. GE is one of the few manufacturers that offers upscale features in a 27" unit. One downside - it preheats so S-L-O-W-L-Y. As long as you are not in a hurry - you'll be very pleased with it's performance.

Trying to get a good balance

The product is fine, however I am having difficulty trying to get the temperature of the oven to match it's reading. Have reset a couple of times and wwe are getting closer.

Clean Design in New Model

We purchased this product to replace an older version of these ovens. The current version has been updated to include glass touch panels to control both ovens. The cooling fan program has also been changed so that it comes-on immediatly after starting the ovens. Presumably, this is to keep the top mounted controls cooler internally so that they have a longer life. We do enjoy the "sleeker" design of these wall ovens and they match our other GE appliances very nicely. However, one feature that we do miss from our other oven was the meat temperature sensor. This device, when inserted into meat would measure the "doneness" temperature of the meat and turn-off the oven when the temperature that one had preset had been reached. We discovered that this feature is available if one purchase the larger oven size. If this feature is important to you, consider whether you should or could purchase the larger size. We feel that eliminating this feature is a deficiency in the product.

Excellent Quality and great look

Our previous "15 year old" Double Oven ceased working on Christmas Eve this year. We were looking at the GE Profile line for awhile and now was our chance. The unit is very solid in construction and during our trips to "touch and feel" the product, we noticed how different the Profile was compared to may competitive Brands. The racks are super sturdy which give us much confidence when pulling them out. Talk about quiet...it doesn't even compare to our previous oven. We can't wait to try out the Convection. Thank you GE for still making a high quality product for consumers!!!
