Misleading Advertising

I bought this product because of the BR-Receipts software as advertised on the box. Upon getting the scanner setup, I realized that the software wasn't included in the software bundle, but I instead had to download it. Not a huge deal. It was a bigger deal when I found the software and saw that even though I had just purchased a scanner, I had to pay for this receipt software. So I paid for it.
And boy, did I pay. BR-Receipts is the worst, and most frustrating piece of software I have used. Shortly after realizing this (within the same day) I contacted Brother for a refund of the software. I told them I didn't want to go through any troubleshooting steps, and that the problems in the software are beyond restarting my computer. The software is just plain buggy and doesn't work. Brother has ignored my request for a refund for this terrible product.
With that said, don't buy this with using BR-Receipts in mind, because you'll be sorry.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing Deal!

I love this this scanner. It does everything I need to do. Great quality. Documents and pictures are beautiful. I can scan in business cards, legal size documents and everything else in between. Best of all I don't need to have designated space for it. I keep it in my desk draw and take it out when I need it. I have never had a problem with any of my Brother products and I have never had a problem getting supplies for my old (and still kickin') Brother copier or my Brother P-touch labler.

Great fast scanner and very good price

The scanner is fast and has great software to accomplish whatever task you are doing. have clean my desk of small pieces of paper. I scan documents to PDF format and the software (Paperport) allows to stack pages into one document. I have scanned photos and it does 4x6 at over 10 per minute.
I am very happy with it and the price is way below the competitors.

Nice compact scanner

Extremely compact for travel--fits right into laptop satchel, adding very little extra weight. Very simple to use. Makes good PDF files of both B&W and color documents with included software, although for some reason I can't get the scans to show yellow highlighting made on original document. A great value!

I hope to understand it better as I use it. I had hoped to scan recipes to my computer so I could store, send, use them without going through stacks of paper. As yet I haven't figured out how to get them in "Word" vrs JPEG format. JPEG is fine for pictures, but not for reading. I like small size, easy to store.

Good product, but software needs work

The scanner is a good product, however, the software that comes with the scanner needs work. Unfortunately, the software is too cumbersome and needs to much editing thus, defeating the purpose of simplification. Manufacturer gives you little direction on how to run and download software.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I went back and forth on which brand to purchase and I am so happy with the one I chose. I have used it every day and am so happy with the purchase. I would buy the same one again.
