So quiet, don't even know it's running

With our open floor plan it was important to have a quiet appliance, and this one is very quiet.

This is the best dishwasher I have ever owned! My husband and I love it's versatility? The inside is so large and so east to load and unload. My new GE dishwasher is much quieter and cleans so much better than my last dishwasher which was a Bosch. We love the new slate color of all four of our new appliances...still waiting for the gas stove. Can't wait until it comes. We ordered all four new GE slate appliances.

Quiter than expected

Initially I wasn't sure how the 48dba would fair in my open kitchen where sound carries. I was surprised when I ran it for the first time, because I was waiting for the dishwasher to start its cycle for ten minutes, when I finally realized it had been running the whole time! My wife and I could wisper over the dishwasher and hear each other. The slate finish is a great alternative to stainless as well. Very happy!

I like the dishwasher, it works well. I like the feature for the wine glasses but not the silverware. Overall it works well and I must say it's really quiet which works well for an open concept home.

Quiet, but......

Bought this dishwasher because we up dated our kitchen with all new GE slate appliances. First, the pros: it looks fantastic in my kitchen, very quiet, easy to operate. Now the cons: it doesn't clean my dishes as well as my old GE Profile dishwasher. With my old GE, I could throw any dish in it, without rinsing, and it would come out clean. With this new GE machine, I practically need to wash my dishes before I load them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
