Exceeds Expectations!

This is the first and only dishwasher we have ever owned or used! It absolutely exceeds our expectations in every way. It is so quiet, I have to check the signal light to see if it's running. The GE slate finish is an outstanding color for appliances. It complements every single item and aspect of our new kitchen. The recommended dishwasher products result in spotless sparkling dishes, the energy features are more than appealing amidst a drought, and the use and care manual are clear in how to use and maximize the features. The professional who installed it was bowled over by the slate finish and was taken aback at how quiet it was when he ran a couple of test runs...
I would recommend this to a friend!

Inconsistent, looks nice, but could be better

I find that the dishwasher is inconsistent. 30% of the time there is still dishsoap left on the glasses, but only glass wear. I also had to have a repair done and afterwards it seemed to have a weird oder after not running for a few days. I also dislike the rack design because there isn't a lot of great space for bowls. On the positive side, the thing is absolutely silent. Most dishes come out absolutely spotless. I always use the heated dry or the dishes are soaking wet. I love that the top rack is two teired to fit different size glasses and taller dishes on the bottom rack. I was disappointed that one of the blades broke off within the first week of owning it only to melt into three pieces. GE had it repaired within 2 weeks and the process was pretty painless. Overall, I think its a decent machine, but I wouldn't say I am 100% satisfied. From the reviews I read about other machines, this is pretty standard these days.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So quiet!

This dishwasher is great, it's so sleek and quiet. I enjoy that you can do smaller loads by choosing only the top or bottom cycle.

Clunking noise

I've only had it 4 months and already have had both spray arm replaced. They were quiet for 1 wash, then started clunking again. Dishes never really dry

I have had nothing but problems. First one the door was sprung and second one had s defective gasket and damaged my new floor and cabinets.

Big Step Up!

I bought this dishwasher 3 months ago and wow what a difference a good dishwasher makes. I can now sit in my living room without thinking I am in a mechanics shop. Great at cleaning and SUPER QUIET!!!!

Quiet and Cleans well, Layout poor

We've owned and used this dishwasher for about 4 months. It's very quiet when it's running and does a really good job cleaning. The drying is a little less than ideal if you don't let it sit for a couple of hours after the cycle is done. From what I've read, that's common. The only drawback is the layout of the racks. The bottom rack has basically two rows to hold dishes. That combined with the silverware rack on the rack makes it not a very flexible layout. The issue with the silverware basket location is that the tendency is for everyone to put the silverware in the first basket segment. Would much prefer the basket to be located parallel to the door instead of perpendicular to it.
The other thing that takes some getting used to is the door seal. It does a great job of sealing, but we've found that unless you latch the door each time, the seal tends to pop the door back open when you try to run the dishwasher.
