We had the dishwasher installed a little over a month ago. The Slate looks great with our new cabinets. It is very quite !!

Great Dishwasher

My kitchen is in the same area as my tv room. I used to wait until we left the room to start the dishwasher now I can do it anytime. So very quiet. Cleans great too. Especially pleased with the slate finish. No fingerprints.

poor door latch

I bought this 3 months ago. When I was about to wash the first full load of dishes, the door would not latch. We called GE and had a service man come take a look at it. He offered to come back in a week to repair the door, or get a new dishwasher. We decided to get a new one. Two weeks later the new washer comes. After about 2 months, the door latch is starting to fail again, takes many tries to get it to close. I read some of the other reviews posted here, and found that this is a very common design flaw. We will be calling GE again... Also, I was shocked to find that the dishwasher did not come with an electric cord. That does not make any sense. We had to buy it separately, and hard-wire it ourselves. I also do not like that the door opens very low, close to the floor. Plus side: looks nice, very quiet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
