I purchased this dishwasher and 3 other GE appliances (all stainless steel) 6 months ago for a complete kitchen remodel. I did a significant amount of research prior to making my selections. As with any product the installation will make all the difference with performance and use so I had it installed professionally. I have no problems with drawers rolling on their own when the door is opened. When my granite counter top was installed the granite installers supplied a special mounting bracket that we used for installation. As far as looks I was cautioned by many salespeople and friends about the fingerprint hassle of ANY stainless steel appliance. To remedy that problem I just keep a microfiber cloth moistened with a small amount of water easily accessible and stay on top of the fingerprints. I like the concealed control panel because I was achieving a clean stream-lined look to my kitchen. As far as performance it was suggested that to get optimal cleaning run the hot water in the sink just before starting the dishwasher cycle. This allows for the hottest water to enter the dishwasher right at the beginning of the cycle. This is an energy efficient product and does not use as much water as the older dishwashers. For this reason I rinse my dishes prior to putting them in the dishwasher. I guess this defeats being energy conserving but it is what it is. I also use a name brand soap pod (manufacturers recommendation that comes as a sample with the dishwasher) that dissolves as long as I get that hot water in at the beginning of the cycle. Placement of pots and pans toward the front of the bottom rack can also block the water jetting to prevent the soap from dissolving. I assume this would be a problem with any other dishwashers out there. I do find that the bottom rack makes placement of cereal bowls difficult. I used to be able to fit 6 bowls easily in the bottom rack in my older model and now I can only fit 4. The utensil rack has 3 parts to it and I find that it comes apart occasionally. Frustrating when it is partially or fully filled so I check it frequently before I start to load it. I would have liked it towards the front so you don't have to open the door completely and pull out the bottom rack all the way when it starts to load up. The top rack is elevated somewhat higher on the left side and lower on the right side. If I have a dinner party and need to wash wine glasses I can only use the right side. Both sides have stem holders but I can't use the left side for my glasses but it is a nice feature. Only wish the left side was not elevated. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase for the money I paid. I could have spent significantly more on another product and still have been dissatisfied with some feature.

I purchased the Profile Series thinking I was getting "high end" items. The microwave and stove are fine, the dishwasher stinks, period. Dishes come out with food and grease still on them. We have to use the 2 1/2hr cycle even on small loads that have been pre-rinsed. Our 15yr old machine out cleaned the GE in 45min. NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES LIKE THIS.

Dishwasher that doesn't wash dishes!
on February 19, 2017

I have had this dishwasher for almost a year and it has never cleaned the dishes. Even after using the hottest and longest cycles dishes come out soiled and have soap clinging to them. I have to prewash dishes and really am not sure that the wash cycle does anything more than give them a rinse. Bottom rack is very poorly designed as well.

The cups, bowels and silverware do not dry. I have to hand dry no matter how long I schedule the drying cycle. the extra drying bust was adding an hour onto the time and still didn't dry the dishes.

A bit of a disappointment.

This dishwasher, when run on the most soiled setting, with the steam pre-treat, and the water temp set on sanitize, with a rinse aid, after running for 41/2 hours, still does not get everything clean. In particular, the inside of drinking glasses, to a lesser extent silverware. But it is quiet.
