"Already having problems"

I bought this, what I perceived to be, a top line Dishwasher May 17, delivered May 22, installed July 2 & it stopped working properly Aug. 6 2014.
Paid for installation Plumber to insure it was installed properly.
Now have been without dishwasher for a week as we wait on repairman to assess why it is not pumping water out of dishwasher. We hope this is not the beginning of long history of issues.

Replacement for old GE, door seal bit the dust

We bought this about 3 months ago, washer works and cleans fine, racks somewhat difficult with glasses, tend to be unstable. Stainless Steel outside is difficult to keep clean.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Looks nice, but cleaning is suspect

I read all the reviews, and the GDT580SSFSS seemed to be the best choice. It looks great in my kitchen, but many times the dishes don't come out clean. On a good note, the machine is very quiet (I can't even tell it is on, but maybe that is part of the problem, because maybe it isn't?). The only way they do is if I ensure there is not any food on the dish before I place it into the dishwasher. Basically, I wash the dishes by hand and then place the int the dishwasher. Well, vendors will tell you that it is because the government removed phosphates (trisodiumphosphate) from all detergents. So, I went online and purchased a detergent that still has phosphates, Bubble Bandit. When used, it did not clean the dishes any better. One fine point of the dishwasher is that the main spray arm is slightly tilted. So, you can fit cookie sheets in the left hand side of the dishwasher, but not the right had side. If you do, the spray arm will catch on the right side and not work during the cycle. Also, my rinse aid dispenser broke sometime after I first installed it. I used it the first day, and then didn't use it for about 3 months. I used it last week and the rinse aid leaked right out of the machine! It seems like the plastic rinse aid container has cracked (maybe due to the heat drying cycle). My vendor had a repair person come to my house to look at teh dishwasher and he said nothing was broken, but he did not check out the rinse aid dispenser. Now, the machine is past warranty (already had my customer service check) and I'll have to pay someone to fix the dispenser, ughhhhhhhhhhh.Enusre your repair man checks out everything on the machine, just not the diagnostic cycle.

I have had this for several months - door is a pain to close tightly - what ever happened to the lever to lock the door so you can run it easily? I would never buy another one with the controls on the top-impossible to see under the countertop. It also doesn't clean the front row upper portion very well.

It's very quiet. We like that the control panels aren't seen which is nice to keep young kids from pushing buttons and gives a general sleek look.

Honestly anything would be better than our old disheasher but the GE surpased our expectations. We love the easy slide top rack as well as the ability to move it. The only issue i would have is that very rarely the top rack gets caught on the rinse arm on the top of the machine but it is not that often to where it causes an issue.
I would recommend this to a friend!
