I have been a commercial restaurant technician for 30 years. We installed this in our house and maybe use it once a month. Every now and then our circuit would trip in our kitchen. I finally tracked it down to the dishwasher. It has been leaking since we bought it (Unfortunately it is now out of warranty). Only reason I couldn't tell it was leaking is GE bolted a drip pan underneath to catch leaking water. Right away I seen the pumps in water along with half the wires submerged. Now the unit won't do anything. Most of us don't need a technician to come out and fix our units it would be nice for you to supply the technical documentation needed to repair instead of making us go through your "Authorized" service providers. If you design a unit that catches water make sure it is lower then the components so they don't short. Common sense goes along way.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We had our home built and requested all GE appliances. The diswasher works but will not dry the dishes. There is no heat. It's only five years old and I was hoping to get several more years useage prior to replacing it.

We have had this dishwasher for approximately 7 years.. It does not clean dishes well. Nor does it dry them. After very limited use, it is now broken and the part will not be available for 3 months. Ridiculous! I regret purchasing this GE appliance.

We LOVE this dishwasher. It is the best one we have ever owned. Cleans everything spotless and I love the utensil racks. Def makes use of the interior space wisely, you can fit a lot in it!

We just bought this dishwasher and it is so quiet. The steam clean feature saves me a step of rinsing all the dishes before loading. Love it.

This is not the most affordable washer, but you get what you pay for. If you want a lot of dishes spotless clean in a quiet cycle, this the the guy. The features are great. Not as easy to install as I anticipated, but worth the effort.

We purchased this GE whisper quiet dish washer after exhaustive research for our kitchen renovation. It's so quiet we didn't even know it was on the first time we used it. We had to put our ears to the door to make sure it was on. Get it...you won't regret it!

Advice on not always washing

When it works, it's great! So quiet, too, and I love the capacity and how clean plastics come. But 3 times in the last two months the detergent door opened but the detergent pack (Cascade Platinum, as recommended) was not released. The washer was set on heated dry, so it made the dirt on the dishes baked on since they weren't washed. It almost seems like no water came through. What could be causing this? I always check to make sure the detergent opening is not blocked, but could something be blocking water? How can I prevent this or do I need service?
