Great features, one big problem

I like this dishwasher. It looks really nice and I can fit a lot in it and it does a pretty good job cleaning. But, about half the time the soap doesn't open and I have to run it again which in the shortest cycle is still an hour and a half.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A disappointment

I had a ten year old GE Profile dishwasher that I liked a lot. Thinking this model would be as good, I did not hesitate to purchase it. What a disappointment. It does not load at all well - the top rack has spaces that allow small dishes to fall through, it is uneven and when lowered to accommodate wine glasses, plates do not fit in the bottom rack without the water spinner hitting them. The best feature is that it is very quiet. But it takes forever to u through a cycle. I find the hidden buttons and lights annoying, too. All in all, GE took a god product and ruined it!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is so quiet! I love that feature. It dries dishes so well, and no water spotting on the inside either. Sleek look and i love the polished accents on the stainless. Very sharp looking and performs beautifully!

Unbelievably Quiet!

My old dishwasher was loud and didn't clean dishes well at all. The first time I started this new GE dishwasher, I had to go back and check to be sure it was running because it was SO QUIET! I couldn't believe it! On top of that it got every dish crystal clear without me having to pre-wash any of it in the sink.

Has a pre wash features that does not help, i still have to pre wash by hand. Wash cycle runs hour an half to two hours.

Excellent appliance

This appliance was a last minute purchase and has been a delight! Cleaning is superb, and so many options. Very quiet (often need to check it is on!) Problems cited in reviews (odor, water collection) are non-existent. So pleased I considered this GE before purchasing another top quality brand.

The dishwasher model GE GDT580SSFSS is a poorly constructed model. The specific appliance I received was received in a defective condition. I cannot recommend this specific product to anyone.
