[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 3 ink cartridges in the last week(564). I have this printer for about 10 years and have not had any trouble with or the ink cartridges.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good product. I would put the symbol that is on the cartridge, on the box as well, since there are different black cartridges for this printer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this about 12 days ago, installed with the color ones, printed maybe 35 copies, will not print now shows light gray streaks on clean cartridge print page.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Tom,
I am sorry that you are not being able to print more. It does sound like the black is probably low.
Ink usage determines how long a cartridge lasts, unless it was damaged or defective. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the air is dry.
Also, cleaning forces some ink through the tiny inkjet nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper. That uses up some ink.
If you weren't printing high-density and feel that there was something wrong with the cartridge, you can contact the HP Store. The return and exchange process is covered, step-by-step, at: store.hp.com/us/en/cv/returnsandexchanges

Hello Renee,
I am sorry that you are not being able to print, but it probably isn't because of the cartridge. The cartridge provides ink to the printer, but if the printhead inside the printer is clogged, the ink can't get through the tiny inkjets.
A cleaning can help clear the clogs. There is an option to clean the printhead in the printer's menu.
If that helps, the printer might have been turned off using a power strip or switch. The power button on the printer itself should always be used to turn it off. That will let the printer 'park' so that the printhead is protected from excess drying. That can cause clogs to form in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.
If that doesn't help, you can check with HP to see if your printer is under warranty and needs repairs.
