I see you had a dried-up cartridge. What a shame! The cartridges are tricky. At this time of the year, the heat begins. Be sure to clean the cartridge printhead every single time. This ensures the cartridge is not dry when you use it. If you have any additional questions, contact HP at www.support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/.
This was the third 564XL black cartridge I have purchased which was defective and I have returned it.
